I grew up in Knoxville and attended high school at Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy and the University of Tennessee, graduating in the field of Education. I later completed my MBA from the University Of Chicago, while working in the telecommunications industry. After thirty five years in that industry I began consulting within various business and small city management as well as bi-vocationally working in various churches doing pulpit supply, working with senior adults, pastoral care and administration. I received additional biblical training from the Bible Training Center at Harrison Chilhowee, The J. Harold Smith Pastor Training program and the Masters in Applied Theology program at Carson Newman University. I received my license to the Gospel Ministry from Central Baptist Church of Bearden, where I was interim Senior Adult and Pastoral care pastor and leader of Sunday evening services. The time I worked at Central Baptist under Pastor and mentor Larry Fields strengthened my call to the ministry. Working with Dean Haun and witnessing his passion for training bi-vocational pastors in the J. Harold Smith program led me to learn about the amazing ministry here at First Baptist Morristown.
My wife Karen is also from Knoxville and attended UT where we met and later married. We have two daughters and one grandson. Karen works part time for the Knox County Association of Baptists as the ministry assistant to the Director of Missions. It is truly a privilege to work and serve with this great staff and family of believers here at FBCM as well as being part of a great community here in Morristown.
