Music Ministries Opportunities

As a member of First Baptist, you’ll want to be ministered to.  We hope you’ll also want to find a way to use the gifts, talents and abilities God has blessed you with to minister to others.  As you seek your place of ministry here, please accept our invitation to consider becoming involved in ministry through music.

Our desire is to use music as a tool to exalt our Lord, to encourage our church family, and to evangelize those who have not experienced a relationship with Jesus Christ.  The idea that is central in each of those purposes is that we  help the church experience the presence and power of God every time we meet for corporate worship.

It is our belief that music ministry offers one of the most exciting places of all to get involved in the life of First Baptist.  When asked which of the commands was the greatest, Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all  your mind.”(Matt. 23:37 NIV)  Music provides an avenue for each of us to worship – and to lead others to experience the true joy of meaningful worship.

If you enjoy playing and haven't in a while, we encourage you to "dust off" that instrument and join us as we praise the Lord!

"Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre; Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;  Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe;  Praise Him with loud, resounding cymbals.  Let EVERYTHING that has breath praise the Lord!    Psalm 150:3-6

Praise Ringers

Handbells add both visual and aural beauty to our worship services.  Our Praise Ringers are a dedicated group of 12 to 15 musicians who enjoy a unified effort of praise through handbell ringing. They ring 5 octaves of Malmark Handbells, often adding handchimes to give texture and variety to their ringing.

EXALT is open to students in grades seven through college.  This group incorporates different areas of fine arts in worship and ministry.  Praise teams, praise bands, black light drama and drama/skits are used.  Members of EXALT participate in student ministry mission projects throughout the year as well as in our morning and  evening services.  We encourage our students to also live out a life of worship.  So if you have a song for Christ, we encourage you to be a part of EXALT!
