Children's Building Update

THE TIME HAS COME!
The Children's Building Committee has given us the vision. Our Architect has developed the conception. The State has approved our plans. You have sacrificially given. Our contractor is ready to move dirt. The Staff has a plan for parking. Our Capital Development Team has given us the green light. What has been dreamed of, thought over, and prayed for almost 15 years is about to become a reality.
THE TIME HAS COME FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH!!! Ground Breaking for the new Children's Building will take place on Sunday, September 18. Construction will commence the next day, Monday, September 19.
Currently we estimate that we are about $900,000 short of a completed project. Because of your faithfulness, I am confident that we will be completely debt free by the time we complete this project and move in. In order to do this, I am asking that we sacrificially give over the next year so that we may finish strong. I believe we can give half this amount by year’s end and give the last half by Mother’s Day in 2012.
Within this special edition newsletter is a host of information that will enable you to take part in the events of the 18th as well as answer many of the questions you may have about construction. I will be preaching a special message on Sunday, September 11th, that will also be helpful as we look toward the excitement of these great days ahead.
Let's build this building for the glory of God. Let's keep our focus on our precious children. Let's reach this community for the cause of Christ.

I love you and I'm proud of you,
-Bro. Dean

Children's Building Groundbreaking Service:

Meet the Contractor
Wild Building Contractors is situated in Morristown, Tennessee and was incorporated in 1984.
Wild Building was an outgrowth of Wild Construction, a residential construction company owned by J.C. WBC was started as a full-service general contractor to focus more on commercial and industrial projects. Over the Company's 25 year history, WBC has leveraged its expertise and success in construction and renovations to expand into additional markets, including military, education, commercial and public. The company also expanded its geographic focus and now maintains construction licenses in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Since 1984, WBC has completed over 160 projects, which includes over 75 HUD projects and more than 85 other general construction projects. WBC has a solid reputation in its industry for its expertise, quality of work, and reliability.

Main Level (12,664 S.F.)
This level will house our current preschool ministries including Sunday school, AWANA, Extended Teaching Care, and preschool choirs.  Also our current weekday ministries, Wee School and Creative Kids, will continue in the provided spaces.  It is vital that this space be safe and secure, therefore there is only one entrance/exit.

Front Exterior View
The exterior of the building will be a beautiful welcoming area to the campus.  With the placement of a few park benches it will be a location someone may find attractive for an outdoor lunch.  The lovely landscape design will provide great curb appeal and the playground placed at the corner of the building will speak to our love of children at First Baptist Church.  The center piece of this area will be a unique brick sculpture of our design.

Upper Level (11,830 S.F.)
The upper level will host all of the current elementary ministries offered by First Baptist Church.  Sunday school, AWANA, Children’s Worship, and children’s choirs will continue here and find room for growth in this space.  The large center area will be a multi-use space.  On Wednesdays it will be open for use as the AWANA game circle, while on Sundays it will be setup for use during Children’s Worship.  This design also provides for the possibility of training conferences and meetings.  While the large room is used for the parents’ meeting space, children could be taught in the surrounding rooms and in the preschool on the main level.

Lower Level (11,483 S.F.)
Upon completion, this space will be used as our preteen ministry area, providing much needed space for Sunday School and AWANA.  Imagine this area opened every Saturday evening and providing a place for preteens to invite their friends to “hangout”.  It will someday be an awesome ministry tool.  Although unfinished at this time, in the future this space could host an after school ministry.  Children could come here after school and receive tutoring while in a safe and fun environment. Other uses may include a senior adult walking club.  This area could be open every morning for seniors to come exercise and fellowship with a cup of coffee in the cafe’.  There is little doubt that this area will be used often.
