Who Is Jesus

Who Is Jesus?

We believe Jesus was more than just a great man. Jesus is the Way to know God (John 14:6). God created us in His image and, in His love, allowed us individual freedom through the act of a free will. In us all is a desire to control our own destinies, so to speak, and that desire leads to sin. Under our own willpower we can never live up to God's perfect standards. Because of that, we all face death and separation from God forever. But God, being rich in mercy, made a way for us to have eternal lives (Ephesians 2). Jesus is that way. He lived a perfect life and took God's wrath as a man so we don't have to face it ourselves. Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.
